I've loved making things my whole life, but for the past few years I've been developing a more intentional art practice. It started with a renewed love of sewing, which led me down a three-year path of learning the art of patternmaking. From there I dabbled in woodworking, ceramics, quilting, and natural dyeing. I decided to learn InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator to expand my creativity tools, which led to a year of taking classes from artists. I was particularly drawn to digital collage, having spent many hours making physical collages in my youth. As I reconnected with this mixed media art form and became inspired by mixed media abstract artists, I decided to try making my own abstract art. I've been dedicated to abstract painting ever since. I work with acrylic paint, watercolor paint, ink, pastel, and chalk on canvas and paper.
